## Notes
### Basic of conversation (be curious)
This is a way to start a conversation, or when your mind is blank.
- What is your name?
- Where do you live?
- Do you have a family?
- What do you do for a living?
- Do you have any hobbies or sports?
- Do you have any travel plans?
### Reflect back
- Reflect back what the other side said. It keeps you connected and helps [[zt - get to that is right]] while making sure we got the other person's ideas correctly.
- As [[zt - feedback is always welcome]] reflecting back is a good way to get two-sided feedback.
- In a fast conversation where there is little time, say first the urgent, then the important.
- In a long conversation, start with the important, then end with the urgent.
### Do not interrupt
- Do not interrupt the person in front of you; they will tell you when they want you to talk.
### Better overcommunication than undercommunication
- When in doubt, share the info.
- Do the communications on your own. Do not assume others are doing it. Ensure important communications are sent, received, and understood clearly.
### Make it explicit.
- By making things explicit, you remove assumptions made by both parties.
- When you share your understanding, you show your viewpoint. This also invites the other side to join in. [[zt - communication techniques]]
